It was a really early start to the day, yawn 7.30 am is early come on, for a vacation of course it is :(. And by 7.30 am i mean i was ready :O so must have woken up by 6.30am? yep 6.30 am i think it was.
Walk into the restaurant where a huge breakfast spread was laid out before us. There was so much to eat, us being vegetarians was no problem at all- damn i can still see those hash browns and cakes and breads and kiwis and awesome cheese in front of me :'(. We met the Polish couple for breakfast over chit chat we were discussing what would happen over the rest of the day. We had no clue. I mean we did know we had sessions to attend, but nothing about what was in store for us. Once they left we had the Serbian couple, join us, poor guys always used to get late :P. I was about to finish my cake when a Durex girl asked us to hurry up for the first session 😦 there went my cake (Lesson learnt: you cant always have the cake and eat it).
A brief mention for the most awesome guy on trip Neil.He superbly managed the entire event while we were in Venice, i love his brit accent, hell i love the brit accent of all Durex UK team/ Cake team, i just love them. They planned everything to the T, nothing left to chance, and everything on time, probably also because in Neil’s words:
In Venice, if you miss the boat, then you really miss the boat
In the first session Volker (Global Director Reckitt Benckiser) introduced Durex, talked about the brand, and also why Durex wanted to do this experiment. Apparently a large percentage of couples across the world do not have a satisfying sex life, and Durex wants to change this.
Thats why the durexperiment. Check out their latest app on http://www.durexperiment.com to know more about this experiment. Durex is not saying that you are not having a great sex life, what they are telling you is how can you experiment and see for yourself, scientifically, measure your pleasure (Wow now thats some phrase 😀 Measure your Pleasure)
We then got a chance to know more about the couples from across the world, everyone introduced themselves and their partners, then shared some really interesting stories about how they met. People met after running a marathon, a party, dance floor (thats us 😉 , now go join a dance class 😀 ). One couple that i have to mention was from Israel, awesome couple and the fittest and hottest couple i should say. Well the guy super duper fit and his wife- after delivering 3 babies and still looking super duper gorgeous. Here you go us with the hottest couple:
We were divided in four groups, to attend sessions with- Susan (the sexpert 😉 super sweet lady with the most amazing heart), Brendan Walker (Thrill engineer- super awesome guy who is into designing rides for amusement parks, and is super excited about his work) and a session for PR training.
The session with Susan was really touching, for it involved complete strangers to share their secrets (willingly without any pressure), their experiences so as to allow others to learn and incorporate bits and pieces into their own lives. We learnt about some astonishing facts as to how people across the world are shy to talk about Sex, leave aside talking to someone else they are shy to even speak to their own partners about what they like or do not like in Sex.
Next up was a session with Brendan and what a fun session it was to learn about the medical equipments we were going to use to measure our heart rate. These were really cool and small devices we had to attach on our chest. Then came the difficult part of blowing a balloon to the point where it would burst. That sent the heart pulsating. Here is a pic with the safety glasses ( I wish we could keep those 😦 )
Also, We got Dell Latitude laptop to keep with us for free 😀 how awesome is that, Durex team kept surprising us throughout the trip :D. After the PR session we headed straight to our room to rest, it was a long day god (It was actually only 3pm 😉 ). We needed rest before we would head out for Sunset tour of Venice :D, but not before chilling out at the skylounge bar at the pool :D, nice and relaxing after a hectic day of work 😀
Like Neil said “In Venice, if you miss the boat, you really miss the boat” We got ready well in time, we didn want to miss this boat for sure. We saw some really amazing buildings, architectural marvels i should call them, canals leading right up to the houses, and also a Bachata dance Class :P. We had a tour guide who was narrating the history of Venice, dont worry i am not going to bore you with that, you may go ahead and enjoy some pictures that we took on the sunset tour.
