Tear drop and scar

In poetry on January 22, 2010 at 10:42

The apple of my eye

My darling sweetheart

I wish you spoke

I wish you told

How I wish I spoke

How I wish I cared

How I wish this was not just a wish

How I wish I had known

You still are my angel

My darling sweetheart

This body so blue

A tear drop and a scar

P.S: Inspired from recent stories of suicides. Something that a parent who has lost a child to suicide may write about.

  1. This is what happens when one is trying to tell something and the other person is just not ready to listen and later the other person just repents and is only left with ‘i wish..’ when the other person is no longer there in his/her life for reasons no one could imagine back then.

  5. Touchy poem. Suicide is a hard thing for people to understand but one has to remember that those who do it are suffering and are sick.

  13. I said nothing
    And no one noticed
    I talked and saw
    Their smiling faces
I saw the end was near
    And cried
    Lo and behold!
    The did notice me…
    … when I died.

(Inspired by a friend’s recent message on fb… felt that I should share it here)

Ironic, isn’t it? They wish you had spoken once you’re dead, but they won’t listen when you do try…

    • I second your thought. We keep saying…through words, through eyes, through touch, through gestures…throughout..when sometimes when all these get unnoticed the extreme happens.

@Ani – nice poem. I wish I could do something to my inactive glands responsible for writing poetry. It doesn’t happen anymore 😦

I wanted to write on the same topic for a long time. Glad that you brought this up.

  18. I hurts when its too late. Thats why they say, keep telling the ones you love, how much you love them. I wish some parents looked beyond “discipline” and “responsibility”, and showed love.
